Aurora Lakeland receives $100,184 donation for Vince Lombardi Cancer ClinicTuesday, February 01, 2011Delavan, Wis. — A check for $100,184 has been presented to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, the result of funds raised from the annual McGMO Golfing for Cancer Care event. Last summer’s event raised $46,322 for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. As a result, a matching gift was donated from the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds of $53,862, leading to a total donation from the event of $100,184. Past funding from the McGMO outing has been used to purchase a variety of comfort items that include: The McGMO golf outing is held every summer for the past 13 years in Walworth County with the goal of improving the health and well-being of local cancer patients. It was established in 1998 in loving memory of Dean McGregor, Ivan Grover, Calvin Monroe, who have lost their battle with cancer and Kim O’Keefe, a courageous cancer survivor.
