Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center receives 100 Top Hospitals national honorTuesday, April 05, 2011Thomson Reuters recognizes Aurora Sheboygan for the fourth consecutive year Sheboygan, Wis. – For the fourth consecutive year, Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center is being recognized as a Top 100 Hospital for 2011 by Thomson Reuters, an international consulting firm, in the Medium-Sized Community Hospital category. Winners are chosen from among nearly 3,000 U.S. Hospitals who are evaluated on 10 measures of overall organization performance, including patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability. According to Thomson Reuters, if all hospitals performed at the same level as the 100 Top Hospitals award winners: • Nearly 116,000 additional patients would survive each year. • More than 197,000 patient complications would be avoided annually. • The average patient stay would decrease by half a day. • Expense per adjusted discharge would drop by $462.
