Burlington, Wis. – The 290 attendees of the 9th Annual Crystal Ball helped to raise nearly $50,000 for Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. The event was held on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Veterans Terrace in Burlington.
The Honorary Chairperson of this year's Crystal Ball was Rama Venu, MD, who was honored for his longtime commitment to the Burlington community and more than 32 years of service to the patients at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase new equipment for Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington Rehabilitation Services, including a leg curl machine, treadmill and two fluidotherapy machines.
"Volunteering on the Crystal Ball Committee and raising funds for our local hospital provides an opportunity to ensure that our community has the best equipment, programs and services available when patients need it most," said Pat Spiegelhoff, Crystal Ball Committee member. "It's so important that people receive the care necessary to regain their strength and resume their daily activities."
Vicki Lewis, chief administrative officer of Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and Aurora Lakeland Medical Center said, "Patients rely on Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington's rehabilitation services for their recuperation, recovery and return to activities that are important to them. Whether it is the ability to return to work, walk through the neighborhood or participate in a favorite sport - the generosity of Crystal Ball attendees will enable us to help many more people have the quality of life that is important to them. I'm extremely impressed with the support we receive from our community."
