Aurora Health Care Recognized as a National Top Workplace

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Milwaukee, Wis. – Aurora Health Care has been named to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Top Workplaces list in the large employer category for the second year in a row.

The award recognizes organizations for investing time, energy and resources in engaging and developing their employees. This investment ultimately enables those organizations to fulfill their mission. Organizations that are honored must have a minimum of 50 employees in southeastern Wisconsin, and may be public, private, government or nonprofit.

The Journal Sentinel worked with WorkplaceDynamics, a suburban Philadelphia company that surveys companies and analyzes the data, to determine the area's top workplaces. WorkplaceDynamics asked employees of nominated companies to respond to a set of statements about their workplaces using a seven-point scale.

John Zorbini, Aurora’s chief human resources officer, said Aurora takes pride in being an employer of choice, striving to provide flexibility, competitive pay and benefits, professional development opportunities and more. “Today more than ever, we need caregivers who are engaged and focused on delivering the best care for our patients. It’s our job as leaders to ensure that caregivers have the tools and the passion to succeed. I’m proud to be part of a Top Workplace.”

In all, 961 companies were invited to participate in the WorkplaceDynamics survey, and 195 chose to be surveyed. Those companies employed 101,256 workers in southeastern Wisconsin. In the process, 85,405 workers received surveys, and 55,695 of them responded.

Aurora is also recognized by WorkplaceDynamics in their inaugural National Top Workplace list. The list is an aggregate of results from across 30 Top Workplaces publishing partners intended to identify the best employers in the nation.

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care. Aurora offers services at sites in more than 90 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
