Seven Aurora Health Care hospitals recognized by Joint CommissionThursday, September 20, 2012Hospitals named Top Performers on Key Quality Measures Milwaukee, WI – Seven Aurora Health Care hospitals have been recognized as Top Performers in The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures™ program for 2011. The Joint Commission recognizes accredited hospitals and critical access hospitals that attain and sustain excellence in measured performance. Nationally, only 620 of more than 3,400 eligible hospitals were recognized by the Joint Commission. “This recognition from The Joint Commission is a reflection of Aurora’s commitment to quality,” said Bruce Van Cleve, MD, chief medical officer for Aurora Health Care. “It’s our belief that high quality care equals better outcomes. As health care evolves, Aurora will continue to find the best ways to provide superior health care in the most affordable manner.” The hospitals in the Aurora system that are being recognized for this honor are:
Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center are two of only 244 hospitals in the nation to achieve the distinction two years in a row. A top performing hospital is recognized based on accountability measures reported to The Joint Commission that are at or above 95 percent. Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit Wisconsin health care provider and a nationally recognized leader in efforts to improve the quality of health care.
