Fourth Annual Hope Shining Gala set for Dec. 6

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Milwaukee, WI — The Healing Center will host the Fourth Annual Hope Shining Gala in honor of the individuals it serves on Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in Milwaukee.

The Gala, emceed by Kim Murphy, reporter from Fox 6 News, includes a silent auction, live music, and inspiring speeches from survivors and local supporters. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Healing Center in its mission to provide services for survivors. In 2011, The Healing Center supported 628 men and women in their recovery from sexual violence.

The Healing Center will present Hope Shining awards to Linda Davis and Sally Turner, founding mothers of the organization and champions for survivors of sexual violence. Throughout the evening, The Healing Center will highlight the work and efforts of the honorees and the impact they have made in the community.

Maryann Clesceri, Executive Director of The Healing Center, states, “We are honored to host this gala in recognition of all our strong survivors and hope to raise much needed funds to support the work we do in helping men and women heal from sexual abuse. All of our services are provided free of charge, so we rely on our generous donors to allow us to continue counseling, group therapy and advocacy for those who are uninsured or underinsured.”

Tickets to the Gala are $70 per person and may be purchased online at www.aurora.org/healingcenterhopeshining. For additional event details or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Elaine Maly at 414-219-7827 or e-mail elaine.maly@aurora.org.

Though affiliated with Aurora Sinai Medical Center, The Healing Center is an independently funded program.
