Aurora Health Care receives national Premier healthcare alliance awards for safe, efficient and effective careWednesday, June 12, 2013
Milwaukee, WI – Aurora Health Care has been nationally recognized for providing high-quality care while controlling costs.
Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh and Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County are among 17 hospitals honored as finalists for the QUEST® Award for High-value Healthcare from Premier, a hospital-owned performance improvement alliance of 2,800 hospitals and nearly 100,000 other care sites.
“The physicians, nurses and staff who work hard to provide our patients high-quality, efficient care are Aurora’s greatest assets,” said Nick Turkal, MD, Aurora Health Care’s president and CEO. “Their work is the cornerstone of Aurora’s efforts to provide safe, effective care, while curbing costs.”
The QUEST initiative tracks how well a hospital reduces harm, mortality, readmissions and costs, while improving the patient experience and delivering evidence-based care.
Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, the Aurora Medical Center at Summit and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center are among 38 hospitals to receive a Citation of Merit for the QUEST® Award for High-value Healthcare from Premier.
In addition, Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee is a recipient of Premier’s Supply Chain Excellence Award. The award recognizes top-performing hospitals for their success at controlling purchasing costs in the supply chain. Aurora Sinai is one of only 29 hospitals to receive the award this year.
These awards were presented at Premier’s 2013 Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, on June 12.
