Thursday, August 01, 2013

Green Bay, Wis. – Aurora BayCare Medical Center donated $10,000 to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Green Bay Take Steps Walk. The Take Steps Walk, presented by Aurora BayCare, raised more than $61,000.

“Supporting initiatives that benefit the health of our communities has and will continue to be a priority for Aurora BayCare,” said Dan Meyer, president of Aurora BayCare. “Raising money for research and advances in treatment for illnesses like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis will help organizations like the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation get closer to finding a cure.”

About 600 people and 50 teams gathered in Green Bay to walk and fight against painful, medically incurable digestive diseases. About 1.4 million Americans suffer from inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The annual festival and Take Steps Walk provided a fun and energetic atmosphere filled with music, food, kids activities, local entertainment and – most importantly – the company of hundreds of people who truly understand the impacts of inflammatory bowel diseases.
