Founded in 1970, Aurora Adult Day Centers are Wisconsin's oldest,
non-profit adult day services organization. Aurora currently provides
day care services for frail elderly, Alzheimer's, and disabled adult
participants at 3 adult day centers.
The day centers help reduce the isolation felt by many elderly
individuals and provides a preferred and more affordable alternative to
nursing home care. Services provided allow the participants, who range
in age from their 30s to their 90s, to continue living in the community,
and allow respite from caregiver responsibilities for family members.
Daily services at our adult day centers include:
Transportation services to and from the adult day centers
Nutrition and meals
Social services
Therapeutic activities such as music, art and exercise
Nursing services including health education, medication
management and treatments
Primary health care provided by a nurse practitioner
Whirlpool bathing services and personal care assistance
Physical, occupational and speech therapies
Massage therapy
Podiatry services
We provide health and social
service solutions that enable people to remain independent within their
communities. This mission is extended to all families regardless of
their ability to pay. Since many participants at
Aurora Adult Day Centers live in poverty, adult day services are
dependent on the generous support from our community. Your
charitable contributions directly support the care provided to these frail
elderly and disabled adults.
