Diabetes Self Management Program
This Diabetes Self Management workshop is a 2.5 hour program once a week for six weeks. The program is developed and supported by Stanford University's Patient Education Research Center. Facilitated by two trained leaders, one or both of whom have diabetes themselves. Within the six week program several topics will include: techniques to deal with diabetes symptoms, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress, and other emotional problems, appropriate exercises, healthy eating, working with your health care provider and more. Participants will be able to share their experiences each week and help each other solve problems they encounter. For medical questions, participants will be referred to ask their physician. For the class fee of $20, each participant will receive a book and all learning materials.
