Fibromyalgia Aquatic Exercise Class

Research has shown that exercise is one of the most effective treatments for fibromyalgia – it can help to relieve symptoms, including:  pain, fatigue and sleep problems, while improving daily functioning.  The Aurora Rehabilitation Center in New Berlin offers a specialized exercise program designed for patients diagnosed and living with this disorder.

Open to all ability levels, the class is taught by Anne Sanders, CRTS, a certified therapeutic recreational specialist with extensive training in aquatic exercise and therapy.  By limiting class size, individual needs and exercise modifications are easily incorporated into the weekly program.  In addition, the Aurora Rehabilitation Center site features a private pool area with adjoining locker room.  The 92-degree warm-water pool is ideal for muscle comfort and low-impact exercise.  Please bring a towel and footwear appropriate for the pool deck and locker room; water shoes are helpful, but are not mandatory.

Classes run continuously throughout the year with a new session beginning every two months.  A physician’s order is not needed to participate in this program.
