Formerly known as Aurora Valley View, Aurora Surgery Center in Plymouth has fully renovated its facility to better serve the communities of Plymouth and Sheboygan. Renovations included updating all reception and waiting areas, adding state-of-the art technology and equipment to perform outpatient surgery, creating a larger GI lab with high definition video equipment, and adding a new Sleep Disorders Center.

Private rooms have been added to allow more privacy and comfort for patients recovering from outpatient procedures. All aspects of the rooms -- fixtures, furnishings and bathrooms -- have been updated, including adding flat screen TVs in each room.

Outpatient surgery services are performed by an experienced team of Aurora Sheboygan Clinic surgeons and skilled anesthesia and surgical nursing staff shared between Aurora Surgery Center and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Outpatient procedures include:

  • Hand, wrist and arm surgery
  • Knee and shoulder arthroscopy
  • Cataract surgery
  • Tonsils, adenoids, ear, nasal and sinus surgery
  • Gallbladder and hernia surgery
  • Reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery
  • Gastrointestinal scope procedures, including colonoscopy

Sleep Disorders Center
The newly constructed area within Aurora Surgery Center includes a sleep lab with four private rooms for sleep studies. The Sleep Disorders Center provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for a range of sleep-related problems.  The Sleep Disorders Center was transferred here from Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Diagnosing sleep disorders requires a comprehensive health history to help determine what might be disturbing or inhibiting a patient's ability to sleep well.

Frequent symptoms mentioned by patients are:

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Inability to fall asleep
  • Not maintaining sleep
  • Do not have the feeling of "refreshed" sleep

Obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome or excessive sleepiness are some the most common conditions diagnosed and successfully treated at the Sleep Disorders Center.
