The service is available Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the main hospital atrium entrance. Continuing Care FacilitatorsAurora BayCare Medical Center has both Discharge Planning Registered Nurses as well as Social Workers on staff to assist with issues both during and following hospitalization. They assist with issues related to insurance coverage or denial, transfers to another facility (such as long-term care), and community resource assistance as well as home medical and hospice arrangements. DischargeOur hospital discharge time is 11 a.m. Whenever possible, we ask that you make arrangements to leave by this time once your physician has discharged you. This time allows us to prepare your room for use by other patients. Our staff can assist you and your family in making arrangements for discharge. Dry cleaningRoyal Express, a service of Royal Cleaners, provides dry cleaning pick up and delivery for your personal items every Tuesday and Thursday. Royal Cleaners offers a 20% discount for services provided. For more information, please contact your nurse or the Inpatient Lobby at ext. 3250. Emergency conditionsFor your safety, the hospital has developed and implemented responses to various emergency conditions. You may see flashing lights or hear alarms with announcement that signal an emergency condition. During these conditions, your door may be closed. Please stay in your room unless told otherwise by the nursing staff. For your safety, the hospital conducts routine safety drills. Please stay in your room unless told otherwise by the nursing staff. Family accommodationsWe offer 22 private, hotel-like rooms available for rent for patients and/or their families and friends. These rooms are located on the 5th floor of the hospital. The cost is $62 per night. Our room charges are exempted from any taxes as the rooms are only available to patients and/or their families and friends. Depending on availability, you may choose between rooms with 1 king-sized bed or 2 queen-sized beds. We ask that no more than 5 people in one room stay overnight. Many of the rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator - if you would like these appliances, please specify at the time you make your reservation. Laundry facilities (washer and dryer) are available, as well as an iron and ironing board. There is no limit on local telephone calls (and no charge); however, we ask that you use a calling card (or call collect) for all long-distance telephone calls. All of the rooms are nonsmoking. You may reserve your room(s) by calling 920-288-3250 or toll-free 888-211-8866 and ask for Family Accommodations. Typically, room availability is not an issue, but we recommend making a reservation. Family loungesAdjacent to our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor Medical/Surgical units are family lounges. Each lounge has a kitchenette (microwave & refrigerator) and a small library featuring health resource materials and fiction novels, as well as Internet access. These lounges are open 24 hours a day. Financial counselingFinancial counselors can help if you have concerns about how you will pay your hospital bill. They will answer questions about your bill and discuss payment options. If you do not have insurance, they will help you find out if you qualify for Medicaid or other assistance programs. If you would like to speak with a financial counselor, you may reach them at 920-288-3092. Gift shopOur gift shop is adjacent to the Inpatient Lobby. It is operated by volunteers and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Based on the availability of our volunteers, the shop is occasionally open evenings and weekends. We have an array of gifts including baby and children items, board games, disposable cameras, magazines, books, balloons, cards, stamps and fresh flowers. We also offer an overnight film developing service. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, VISA and Discover. Guest diningThe Greenbrier Café, located on the 1st floor, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and again from 7:30 p.m. till midnight. Our main entrée features are available for breakfast from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m. Lunch is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m., and is available for the grill and sandwiches from 7:30 to Midnight. The Greenbrier Café offers a selection of hot and cold foods, soups and a salad bar as well as a wide variety of beverages and desserts. Click here to view the current menu. Adjacent to the Greenbrier Café is our vending area, which is open 24 hours a day. This area has a variety of foods, snacks and beverages as well as microwave available for your use. For any questions regarding the Greenbrier Café, please call extension 3209. [ Top of page ] Hospital billYour hospital bill will be submitted to your insurance company. Please keep in mind that you will receive separate bills from doctors who treat you while you are in the hospital. In some cases, you may receive bills from doctors who have been asked to review your test results, even though you did not see the doctor in person. Pathologists, radiologists, cardiologists and other specialists will bill you separately from your hospital bill. Hospitality basketsEvery inpatient unit has a hospitality basket filled with items to meet your personal needs and/or to occupy your time while your body heals. Please contact your nurse for more information. Interpreter serviceAll patients in need of vision, hearing, and/or language interpretive services will be provided such services at no cost 24 hours a day. To utilize these services, please contact your nurse. LibraryThe Community Resource Library is conveniently located on the 4th floor. The library features internet access with MEDLINE and other medical resources that will help to answer your questions and information needs. A librarian is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend access to the library can be arranged by contacting security at ext. 3190. To learn more about the library, click here. Lost and foundIf you misplace an item during your time with us, please contact our security at ext. 3190. If an item is found after you leave, we will contact you regarding your return of the item. Massage therapyTherapeutic massage services are provided in the patient room or in a private treatment room. In these settings we establish a soothing atmosphere with soft lighting, aromatherapy and music to enhance the relaxation process. Sessions last from 30-60 minutes; cost varies accordingly. Mail/floral deliveriesAll mail, floral arrangements and gifts coming to the Medical Center will be promptly delivered to you. If you have already left, mail will be re-addressed and forwarded to your home. Our mailing address is: Aurora BayCare Medical Center Newspapers/ATM machineThe Green Bay Press-Gazette, Green Bay News Chronicle and the USA Today are available for purchase in the vending machine area located next to the Greenbrier Café. You will also find an ATM machine in the vending area. Nurse callThere are several methods for calling for nursing assistance. There is a white box with a nurse call button (red/orange) placed at the bedside. There is also a nurse call button on the inside and outside of the bed rails. Emergency call buttons are located in the bathroom (tub/shower area) and near the toilet. Oil changesMobile Facility, known as MOFA, provides an on-site oil change service every Friday from 11 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m., or when all vehicles have been serviced. Some of the services available include a basic oil change, detailing, tire rotation, installation of new windshield wipers or new air filters. For pricing information, please contact the Inpatient Lobby at ext. 3250. Pain managementYour comfort is very important to us. As pain medications are often ordered "as needed," please let us know when you are in need of pain medication. Nursing staff will routinely ask you to rate your pain on a 0-10 scale (0-no pain, 10-worst pain). Research has shown that pain is better controlled when administered before pain becomes severe. Pastoral careChaplains are available at all times to discuss your spiritual or emotional concerns. Chaplains will also assist you in contacting your house of worship for sacramental needs, or a visit from your own clergy. You may request a chaplain at any time by speaking to your nurse or calling 288-3094 to leave a message. The Interfaith Chapel, located on the first floor between the Inpatient Reception area and the Main Lobby, is open for use at all times for prayer. Patient AdvocatesDuring your stay, you may be visited by a volunteer Patient Advocate. She/he will be inquiring about your stay in an effort to ensure that all of your needs are being met. They are identified by both a name tag and a blue volunteer vest. Patient mealsMeals and nutritional services are provided in accordance with the diet your physician has prescribed for you. Snacks are available between meals in the unit kitchenette and via the Greenbrier Café To-Go menu between 8 p.m. and midnight by calling ext. 3207. Daily menu assistance is provided and every effort will be made to accommodate special needs to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. At any time, questions and concerns may be referred to a registered dietitian or technician by calling ext. 3202. Patient rights and responsibilitiesUpon admission you were given a copy of Aurora BayCare Medical Center's Patient Rights and Responsibilities booklet. This booklet contains information and guidelines to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs for our patients. If you would like an additional copy, please contact your nurse. Patient satisfaction surveyAfter you are discharged, you may receive a written patient satisfaction survey. The intent of the survey is to allow you an opportunity to make comments or suggestions, or address any problems relating to your experience at Aurora BayCare. Your assistance in completing the survey is greatly appreciated, as we want to continually monitor and address possible area of improvement. Pet Therapy ProgramWe have two different types of Pet Therapy. The first involves a visit from the patient's own pet. The second involves a visit from a trained volunteer and their pet. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact Administration at ext. 3003, or discuss this with your nurse. Room temperatureAll of our inpatient rooms have individual climate controls for your comfort. Please ask your nurse for assistance. SmokingAurora BayCare is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in the building and on the grounds. Smoking is only allowed in personally owned vehicles. Patient smoking will be permitted only in rare instances when accompanied by a written physician order. Patients that have a written physician order are allowed to smoke on an outside patio near the physician entrance. Ask your caregiver for specific directions. Sound machinesThe inpatient units at Aurora BayCare have sound machines available for patient use. These machines create soothing, natural sounds to help mask unwanted noise that may interfere with sleep, rest and healing. If interested, please ask your nurse. TelephoneTo place a local call, press 9 + the number. To place a long distance call, your options are collect, third party, or calling card.
To place a call within the medical center, simply enter the 4-digit extension. Phone cards are available for purchase in the vending machine area located next to the Greenbrier Café. Visiting hoursWe have no formal visiting hours. Family and friends are welcome at any time!
