We’re partnering with you to better serve the emergency medical needs of our community

Two dedicated Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (S.A.N.E.) are on call 24 hours a day. These nurses staff our Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program. This program benefits the city of Hartford as well as the surrounding communities within Washington, Dodge and Waukesha counties.

Health Watch® is a unique, personal emergency response system that allows people to live independently at home while maintaining an immediate emergency link to Aurora Medical Center at the push of a button. Health Watch operates 24 hours a day in conjunction with a patient’s home telephone service. Health Watch installation does not affect normal telephone operations. For more information, contact Laura Eggert, Health Watch coordinator, at 262-670-7568.

Aurora Medical Center in Hartford accesses WITrac, an Internet-based resource management communication tool. WITrac enhanced our ability to communicate during disasters and allows us to broadly interact with the community. For more information, please contact Al Davies, R.N., at 262-670-7649.

WITrac abilities:
Emergency medicine • – The system communicates the ability to accept ambulance traffic, as well as bed capacity and resources on hand in the event of a mass casualty incident.

Law enforcement and fire department – • The system disperses information about missing persons and possibly wounded suspects to those on the front lines of emergency medicine.

Public health – • The system quickly posts public health alerts and distributes protocols and other documents, and conducts health surveillance efforts. (The Washington County Public Health Department is currently in “view only” access.)

The Thoughtful Adults Keep Enlightened “TAKE Care” Program addresses the safety-related needs of seniors over the age of 55. Medication interactions, alcohol use and abuse, and doctor/patient relationships are explored. Highway safety issues are also addressed.
