Women's Center at Aurora BayCareWomen's Services at Aurora BayCare Medical Center
Breast health services
We offer you complete breast care capabilities in one
convenient location, with everything from cancer prevention and education to
treatment, rehabilitation and breast reconstruction.
Our breast health coordinators will help you incorporate
breast health into your life by teaching you the importance of monthly self
examinations, and helping you to identify risk factors and warning signs. We
offer radiologic exams for women over the age of 40, knowing that early
detection is key to treating and surviving breast cancer.
Aurora BayCare was the first hospital in the Green Bay
area to invest in a landmark in breast cancer screening -- full field digital
mammography. This state-of-the-art computerized X-ray technology captures
high-resolution images of the breast electronically, providing faster, more
accurate diagnosis and possibly earlier detection of cancerous tissues.
Should cancer be detected, the Women's Center gives you
access to a variety of oncology and radiology specialists as well as plastic and
reconstructive surgeons to help explain your treatment options.
If breast removal is necessary, reconstruction can often
be done immediately following surgery. Advances in reconstructive techniques
have opened many options for patients seeking reconstruction. Surgeons can now
create a breast that resembles a normal breast in every way. Our surgeons will
discuss with you the treatment option that best meets your needs and desires.
Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Center
Urogynecology is a subspecialty within obstetrics and
gynecology dedicated to the treatment of women with pelvic floor disorders. Urogynecologists manage conditions such as urinary incontinence and prolapse
(bulging) of the vagina, bladder and/or the uterus.
Most women with urinary incontinence suffer in silence,
believing the condition to be a normal part of aging. But it isn't. Urinary
incontinence is linked to childbirth and menopause, and can also be caused by
stress, urinary tract infections, pelvic injuries, and even by certain
medications. It's a more common condition than many women think, affecting 5-10%
of all women, including nearly 1 in 4 women over 65.
We provide comprehensive evaluation and effective
medical and surgical treatment for urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor
disorders. We evaluate every individual's condition and develop a treatment plan
designed around lifestyle and personal preference. Treatment may include
behavioral therapy, exercise, non-invasive surgical techniques and surgical
intervention.
The Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery
Center offers a team of professionals experienced in performing simple and
complex procedures for correcting problems of vaginal function and support. We
provide the latest treatment options and resources available to ensure the best
results.
