Hospital issue should focus on competition (letter to
the editor)
Waukesha Freeman, Apr. 10, 2006
It is indeed unfortunate that the judges recent decision
respecting an Aurora hospital was a temporary disappointment. Future
actions in this very costly display of not in my back yard
hopefully will prevail in a different light.
The board action was certainly arbitrary and capricious, possibly
swayed somewhat by outside agencies on behalf of ProHealth Care. Or
they felt that they had the power over a town and were impervious
to any litigation. Yes, Mr. Titus, we understand transparency and it
can be viewed from both sides.
Years ago as I grew up, there was a filling station on the
corner. A long time later another station was built on another
corner selling a different brand. Was there an uproar or objection?
No, this was competition in its simple, economic form.
