Hospital project brings surprising lack of response (letter to the editor)

Waukesha Freeman, Feb. 14, 2006

Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is building again, but its not beds ... yet. Seventy-two hospital beds are plenty for western Waukesha County and beyond.

No, its 40 some millions for a power plant. Lets see, how much does that raise the cost per bed? Wheres the indignant yard signs, the condemnation of the Waukesha County supervisors, the Concerned Business for Responsible Health Care objections, the two-page newspaper spreads of upset doctors, the radio ads against harming the health of Waukesha County by expensive, wasteful building?

I fully expected to see and hear and read the same thing from the same people. But it appears only Aurora is forbidden to build.
