City of Oconomowoc - Key elements of the deal between Aurora Healthcare, Pabst Farms, the City of Oconomowoc and Town of Summit were before the Oconomowoc Common Council on Jan 4.

City leaders approved a revision to the border agreement between the city and the Town of Summit, an annexation of some of Summit's land, and a developer's agreement outlining how a joint fire station will be constructed in Pabst Farms.

These elements are part of the "memorandum of understanding" approved in August, which put to rest litigation between the city and Aurora Health Care and paved the way for the development of a large retail center in Pabst Farms and a new Aurora hospital in the Town of Summit.

The Common Council approved all the agreements, meaning that development on those projects can move forward.

Summit's borders with the city will be permanently fixed, the area east of Golden Lake Road will be annexed into the city, and city entered into an agreement with Pabst Farms and the Town of Summit to construct a $2.5 million fire station.

Additionally, the city approved asking Waukesha County courts to order that the conditions of the memorandum of understanding be accomplished.

According to City Administrator Diane Guard, "This will provide the certainty (Pabst Farms retail developer) General Growth and (hospital developer) Aurora needs to move forward with their projects."
