Jasbir Sra, MD, FACC, is an internationally-recognized electrophysiologist known for setting a new standard in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Sra was the first U.S. clinical investigator to implant an atrial defibrillator. He also performed the first successful epicardial ablation of atrial fibrillation in the U.S. and implanted the first defibrillator in the Indian subcontinent. He has been listed in the Best Doctors in America.
Author of more than 100 abstracts, Dr. Sra has published more than 60 original manuscripts and 50 reviews or book chapters, including landmark articles in The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Circulation and the Journal of the American Heart Association. He lectures extensively in the U.S. and abroad. His current interest includes developing treatment options for complex arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation. Dr. Sra is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society.
Dr. Sra holds board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and is currently clinical professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Clinical Campus and director of the Clinical and Research Electrophysiology Laboratory at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee.
