Dr. Rissell earned his medical degree from the Rush Medical College in Chicago. He then served his residency at the University of Kentucky. He specializes in general ophthalmology with an interest in small incision cataract surgery and laser surgery. He has also received specialized training in the treatment of retinal disease, diabetic eye care, glaucoma and laser surgery.
Dr. Rissell believes in the importance of medical research and has received several grants, participated in numerous studies and earned national honors for his work.
He believes in treating his patients the same way he would want to be treated if he were the patient. This "golden rule" approach has been very well received by patients and very successful for Dr. Rissell.
A native of Pennsylvania, he currently resides in Whitefish Bay with his wife and two sons. Dr. Rissell fills his free time with running (he was an NCAA All-American in track), camping, fishing and photography.
