Biography

Dr. Rama P. Venu received his Gastroenterology training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He subsequently worked as Associate Clinical Professor at the Medical College and as a GI Consultant at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for the last 28 years. Dr. Venu has a special interest in teaching and recently held a faculty position as Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago. His research included disorder of the bile duct, pancreas and screening colonoscopy for prevention of colorectal cancer. He was a participant in National Polyp Study conducted by the National Cancer Institute.

He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Venu has published over 100 papers in peer review journals and has written over 25 textbook chapters on gastrointestinal disorders. He served as the Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology for the State of Wisconsin. He received the prestigious national award of Master Endoscopist in 2000 by the American Society of gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Venu was cited as one of the Best Doctors of America for each year since 2002.
