We want to help your children grow to live active, healthy lives. So we team up with parents and caregivers, taking a comprehensive approach to pediatric care. Not only do we focus on prevention and treatment of illnesses and injuries, but we also emphasize education, training and support for parents and other caregivers.
A Family-Centered Environment
Our goal is to create a caring, compassionate environment where families with sick or injured children can turn for help. Whether it is a scheduled visit or an unexpected trip to the ED, we center our care on your child, combining the latest medical breakthroughs with thoughtful advances in pediatric health care.
We have designed our pediatrics unit to help your child feel as safe and comfortable as possible. This unit features an airplane attached to the nurses' station with an aviation theme throughout. Other special touches include "starlight" nighttime lighting, private hallways and clothing options.
Emergency Care for Children
You have the full resources of a regional medical center in your own backyard. Our ED is open around the clock to provide immediate, high-quality care to your children.
Our emergency department is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses experienced in providing pediatric care. These are professionals who have received advanced training in all types of emergencies involving young people.
Supporting them is a whole team of on-call specialists, as well as radiology, laboratory and anesthesiology services. To accommodate families with small children, we have also designated a special pediatric room and play area to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
Note to parents: Please take time to complete a "Consent for Treatment of a Minor" form for each child in your household and keep it on record at Aurora Medical Center. This form allows our physicians to administer medical care promptly to your child if you cannot be reached. Download consent form (PDF, 34 KB).
