Communication services
Our goal is to give every patient information in the way that he or she understands best. We offer services for patients who need them. Please contact your nurse for information on how to access these services.

Discharge
Your doctor will talk with you about your discharge date. If you have questions about your discharge, please ask your doctor or nurse.

Emergency drills
The hospital conducts many routine safety drills. You may see flashing lights or hear a series of bells or announcements that signal an emergency drill. During these drills your door may be closed. Please stay in your room unless told otherwise by nursing staff.

Lost and found
To prevent losing your personal items, please label them and keep them by your bedside table. These items can get lost if left in the bedding or on the food trays. If you lose something, make sure that you tell the nursing staff right away. Our security staff will make every attempt to find your item. If an item is found after you leave, we will contact you for pick-up or delivery.

Medical equipment/electrical devices
For your safety, electrical devices or appliances may need to be checked out by clinical engineering. Please notify your nurse if you are bringing any of these items into the hospital.

Security services
For your safety, our property is patrolled 24 hours a day by security offices and electronic surveillance. The security staff will escort patients and visitors to their cars at night upon request.

Smoking
This hospital is "smoke free." No smoking is allowed anywhere on campus.
