Cardiac Services: Internationally known for expertise in heart care, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center ranks as a top-10 center in the world for minimally invasive, robotically assisted heart surgery. With the latest technology, we offer a wide range of heart care treatments from ventricular assist devices for transplant patients to the latest in mapping technology for atrial fibrillation ablation. We also offer a large, dedicated heart care unit staffed with highly specialized and experienced teams of physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists and technicians. Here we perform more than 8,000 stress tests and 12,000 echocardiograms annually. St. Luke’s is also an accredited Chest Pain Center committed to providing the highest national standards of care and quality for chest pain patients. In addition, St. Luke’s recently opened Cardiac Specialty Centers that offer the latest treatments and research for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, adult congenital heart disease, Marfan and aortic disorders, and valvular heart disease.

Cancer Services: Working on the frontier of cancer care, our oncology experts refine the most advanced treatments and minimally invasive surgical options available for people who face a cancer diagnosis. These options include clinical trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and major pharmaceutical companies, and advanced technologies such as CyberKnife®radiosurgery and robotic-assisted surgery. Our team of leading cancer specialists is dedicated to improving the survival and quality of life for our patients. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, we discuss diagnosis and treatment options among multiple cancer specialists. And cancer nurse navigators serve as advocates to patients and their families from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

Neurological Care: Our neuroscience programs offer specialty expertise, state-of-the-art imaging plus leading-edge therapies, an inpatient neuroscience unit and clinical trials that make promising new treatments available today. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, we offer stroke patients drugs like the clot-dissolving drug tPA (tissue plasminogen activator), which can reduce long-term disability. Also our regional epilepsy and multiple sclerosis programs serve as pacesetters for innovative treatments.

Organ Transplant Programs: Since 1968, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center has served as a leader in transplant surgery. We’ve performed more than 500 heart transplants and have an abdominal transplant program, which includes kidney, liver and pancreas transplant capabilities. Our team also includes surgeons and nephrologists specializing in laparoscopic kidney donations. Hundreds of our patients have received healthy new organs and have lived to enjoy the benefits. Our program is Medicare-approved for heart, liver, kidney and lung transplants, and offers 24-hour access to physicians and transplant coordinators.
