Career development

Continued professional growth benefits both our employees and the quality of patient care. We provide a wealth of learning opportunities for all levels of employees. Here are just some examples:

Aurora Quest

All new managers participate in an orientation and development program tailored just for them. The program is based on interaction and a partnership with your supervisor, peers and Human Resources and/or Employee and Organizational Development.

Aurora Quest shows you the tools and resources to help you quickly recognize and model our vision and values. Programs are selected to help you access resources and develop the skills that you need to become a successful Aurora manager.

You're now a partner with us working toward a common goal: to support the healing partnerships that are developed among caregivers, patients and their families.

Aurora Leadership Academy

The Aurora Leadership Academy aims to prepare Aurora's next generation of leaders from among our current staff.

During a 12 to 15 month period, the participants experience a series of leadership and skill-building opportunities, including teambuilding, presentation training, relationship building, writing skills and diversity management. These activities are enhanced through a 1-on-1 relationship with a mentor and through formal networking opportunities.

The Educational Assistance Program

Aurora helps pay tuition for courses at accredited institutions of post-secondary education and state licensed vocational schools. The purpose of the program is to allow employees to prepare for other opportunities within Aurora and further development in their position. Courses offered by professional associations can be reviewed for reimbursement at the department level.
