NCI CIRB Submissions

Aurora Health Care is a participating member of the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Central Institutional Review Board (CIRB) Initiative.

Aurora's participation in this Initiative enables Aurora investigators to enroll patients into adult Cooperative Group clinical trials significantly faster than when employing the traditional method of IRB review. The CIRB's primary function is initial and continuing review of protocols and Aurora Health Care IRB's (Aurora IRB) primary function is consideration of local context and oversight of local performance for these protocols. The CIRB Initiative is sponsored by NCI in consultation with the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP).

Local investigators wishing to enroll patients into CIRB-approved protocols are encouraged to take part in the Initiative (click here to see a current listing of CIRB-approved protocols). However, you must notify the Aurora IRB of your intent to participate in this initiative. Please contact the RSPP office by calling 414-219-7744.

Please visit the NCI CIRB Web site located at: http://www.ncicirb.org Here you will find general information about the CIRB and access to the required documentation and CIRB-approved consent forms.
