Research privileging

The Medical Executive Committees and the Aurora Health Care Metro, Inc. (“Metro”) Board of Directors approved a plan to establish the conduct of human subject research as a privilege at all Metro hospitals. The established standards will apply to any physician conducting human subject research at any Metro facility. When a physician desires to conduct human subject research, and can demonstrate that he/she has met the standards, the privilege to conduct research will be granted by the IRB. The IRB is the sole grantor of privileges to conduct human subject research at Aurora Metro hospitals.

No action is required until a physician receives instructions on how to apply for the privilege of conducting human subject research at the time s/he normally seeks reappointment. This privilege will be valid for a 2-year period, at which time the physician will need to reapply.

If you have any questions, please contact the RSPP office at 414-219-7744.

Research privileging packets have been mailed to the physicians listed on the spreadsheets linked below. Links to the most current list and the previous 5 months are provided.
