- Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center joined the American Health Association/American Stroke Association's Stroke Honor Roll in May 2011, making it the first hospital in the state to achieve this recognition.

Achieving this milestone establishes Aurora St. Luke's transplant program among the top in the nation. In many cases, the ‘bridge to transplantation' is the ventricular assist device. Aurora St. Luke's has one of the largest VAD programs in the country.
