Aurora Women's Pavilion Birthing Center

Labor, delivery and recovery

Setting the Aurora Women's Pavilion apart is the beautiful and comfortable home-like surroundings of the Birthing Center. From natural lighting, to furniture that looks like home but easily converts to state-of-the-art hospital equipment, you'll find your private room will provide you with all you need for a safe and comfortable delivery.

Keeping family close also is important at this special time. There is an area for family to stay overnight with you in your room, to begin the process of bonding as a family.

In the Labor, Delivery and Recovery Suites, you and family members or friends will await the birth of your baby. For your comfort, each room has a recliner, TV/VCR and whirlpool tub.

At the Aurora Women's Pavilion, you may give birth in whatever position you find most comfortable, as long as it is safe for the baby. Under the direction of your doctor or nurse midwife we can give you medication and anesthesia during labor and delivery.

If your doctor or nurse midwife finds that you need a Cesarean birth, it will be performed just a few steps away at the surgery suites. The recovery area is also on the same floor.

Our Birth Center staff includes:

  • perinatologists (doctors with special training in high-risk pregnancy)
  • staff doctors
  • clinical specialists
  • nurse midwives
  • registered nurses
  • many more support staff

The Center is fully equipped with ultrasound and advanced equipment to monitor you and the baby closely during labor and delivery.
