Aurora Women's Pavilion Birthing Center

 Postpartum care

After the birth of your child, you will be transferred to your private room in the Women's and Family Care Center where you and your baby will get to know each other. These home-like suites are a comfortable place to spend the next day or two. We have flexible visiting hours so your family can be together as much as you want.

This is also a time to learn more about caring for your baby – especially important for 1st-time mothers. Our nurses focus on each woman, infant and family's unique medical and emotional needs. They are available to help you learn more about feeding, bathing and other care your baby will need.

Our lactation consultant also will provide you with assuring techniques if you choose to breastfeed your baby. Our staff takes every precaution to ensure the safety and security of you and your baby.

The Aurora Women's Pavilion also features family-care rooms designed to help families feel more confident when bringing home an infant with special needs. If your infant will be going home with a monitor or will require other special care, you will have the opportunity to stay in the family-care room with your baby and practice with the equipment you will be using once at home. Our nurses and patient educators will be there to answer any questions and support you.

After you return home, you may receive a call from one of our nurses, just to make sure everything is all right. We know that parenthood can sometimes be overwhelming as well as wonderful. So after you're home, if you have any questions, one of our experienced nurses can help you with anything you need. Call us anytime at 414-978-3000.
