Breast health

Personal breast care coordinator

High risk | Mammography/Imaging | Genetics counseling | Emotional health | Breast cancer

You don't have to face breast concerns alone. At the Aurora Women's Pavilion, we have a breast care coordinator who will listen to your concerns, answer your questions and be by your side.

Who can you talk to if it's time for your first mammogram and you have questions, or you discover a lump in your breast and your physician finds something suspicious, or you are scheduled for a biopsy and are scared, or breast cancer runs in your family?

For many women, the fear of developing breast cancer is very real. we understand the sensitive and significant nature of breast health. That's why we have breast care coordinators – registered nurses who specialize in breast health. A breast care coordinator will listen to your concerns, guide you to a wealth of resources, help you understand what to expect of any tests or treatment and answer your questions.

The Pavilion's breast care coordinator, Pam Lyon, is a registered nurse who has concentrated her career on working with women diagnosed with breast disease. Pam educates women on what to expect, as well as introduces them to services and care available to them at the Pavilion.

Your care coordinator isn't intended to replace the support of your family and friends. However, we believe that knowing you have someone you can call who is knowledgeable about breast cancer and treatment options can provide peace of mind.
