Cancer impacts your life on many levels – physically, emotionally and spiritually. That is why the Aurora Women's Pavilion believes you need a plan of care that addresses each of these aspects of your health.

A mental health team is here to help you address the emotional issues that surround the diagnosis of cancer. Through individual, family or group settings, our counseling staff of psychiatrists, psychologists and nurse practitioners help you face emotional concerns in order to enhance your physical recovery.

Our Problem-Solving Group meets every other week to help women address the private psychological effects of a life-changing illness. We empower women by providing coping skills that can be helpful in dealing with the impact on personal relationships, solve difficult problems associated with their diagnosis and treatment and develop strategies to overcome obstacles they may encounter during treatment and on their road to recovery.

In addition, you will find the assistance you need to handle the unpleasant symptoms that often occur with cancer treatment, such as fatigue, pain, insomnia, appetite disturbances and depression.

We offer you a comprehensive program of counseling, relaxation techniques and when necessary, prescribed medications to help you reduce these symptoms.
