Care coordination team | Genetics counseling | Support services | Meet our lead physician

Focusing on your total well-being when you have a diagnosis of cancer

The Aurora Women's Pavilion offers women who have been diagnosed with gynecologic cancers an entire program dedicated to their special medical needs.

Here, you'll be treated by a multidisciplinary team of specialists who involve women and their referring gynecologists in their care. We provide comprehensive care for women facing known or suspected cancers of the:

  • cervix and cervical dysplasia related to HPV
  • ovaries
  • uterus
  • vulva
  • vagina
  • fallopian tubes

Our Gynecologic Cancer Program provides one specialized location for:

  • High risk assessment services
  • Genetic counseling
  • Education
  • Diagnostic testing
  • State-of-the-art treatment options including:
    - laproscopic and robotic surgical techniques
    - intraperitoneal chemotherapy
  • Support services
  • Referrals
  • 2nd opinions of diagnosis and treatment options

We'll take time to explain treatment options – including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapies – and develop individualized treatment plans.

You also have access to leading-edge clinical studies through the National Cancer Institute and the Gynecology Oncology Group, and state-of-the-art treatment technologies.

Prophylactic risk-reducing surgery of the ovaries

Women at high risk for ovarian cancer may choose to elect risk-reducing surgery for 2 main reasons:

  • It has been proven in research studies to be effective in reducing the risk of ovarian and breast cancer
  • It is a way for women to take control of an anxiety-producing situation

The seriousness of ovarian cancer is in large part due to the later stages at which it is normally diagnosed. This increases the chances of the cancer spreading beyond the ovaries, making it more difficult to cure.

Minimally-invasive surgery is an option for many women. To best understand your personal risk and options, please call 414-329-5656.

Mind • Addressing your personal questions and concerns before they become crises.

Body • Access to leading expert care for traditional surgery as well as state-of-the-art, robotic surgery to minimize pain and blood loss while speeding up recovery and a return to your normal routine.

Spirit • Reaching a confidence to confront the diagnosis of gynecologic cancer through the inspiration and mentoring support of other women who have faced the same experience.
