Please explain the positive results you have experienced with your
lifestyle changes:
Lost
about 20 pounds, enough to make my clothes very loose which is a great
mood booster for me; Fasting blood sugar dropped from 101 to 87; My feet
don’t hurt as much after long night of work.; Have more energy at work
because I know how to eat a balanced meal so my blood sugar doesn’t
fluctuate as much.
I first noticed better posture and its positive effects. In the six
months I have only lost 20 pounds, but my doctor was ecstatic about
that. Prior to starting this program, I had hit the diabetic range in my
March physical. Insulin resistance makes it difficult to loose weight.
My blood sugar number was down by 25 points and now falls in the normal
range. Yeah! My cholesterol number is down by 13 points and falls in the
normal range for the first time in 20 years. My triglycerides are down
by 82 points – still too high, but much better. I have lost many inches
and feel that in my clothing. I have to think about all of this good
stuff on the days when going to the gym does not thrill me…
I have lost 55 pounds, lost 30 inches and went down 8 sized. My
sleep improved as well as energy. I feel so much better physically and
mentally.
I lost over 25 pounds and brought my body fat from 25% to about 15%.
The reason I started the program was to bring my blood sugar below 100.
IT has always been around 105. That number is now down to 87. As an
added bonus, I no longer need my c-pap machine for my sleep apnea.
I feel I am eating a more balanced meal. Lost weight, clothes fit
better. Better lipid level. Sleep better. This is not a diet, just a
better way of eating and living.
I have lost 34 pounds and 5+ inches since March. I have tried other
programs, however this is the first one that really made a difference.
The education and knowledge that we were given made all the difference.
It really taught you how to look at what/how much you are actually
eating. Journaling was huge!! Even though I don’t actually write
everything down, I am always aware of what I’m eating and keep a “mental
tally”. I’m in the gym 5Xs a week and I actually love it!!!
I have lost 32 pounds. I have lost 4 inches from my waist. Blood
pressure was 138/88 . One week ago it was 120/80. Lots more energy at
work. I’m no longer tired in the afternoon. Through journaling, I have
learned to eat much healthier foods. I realize now I can eat foods that
sustain my hunger and give me more energy. I am drinking much more water
now than before (1-4 ½ gallons a day). I look forward to my workouts.
I have lost 10 pounds and gone down 2 pants sizes. My energy levels
are much higher and I feel better about myself. I gained a new
motivation for getting to the gym and it is now part of my routine.
Healthy food choices are part of my diet now as well. I can tell when I
make poor choices because my body feels tired and bloated.
I’ve lost about 20 pounds and my cholesterol has dropped by 10%.
More importantly, I feel healthier than I have in several years. The
best part is no I have the tools to continue my progress and keep
getting healthier and healthier.
New found knowledge regarding health trends; Gaining nutritional
information; Review of basics for weight loss (am a lifetime member of
weight watchers).
I have lost 29 pounds. I completed my first triathlon. I have
reduced my blood pressure medication in half. I learned I was
pre-diabetic and within the first 3 months of the program I was able to
lower my glucose out of the pre-diabetic range. I feel more alive,
energetic and have a more positive attitude which has helped me better
handle stress. What I like best about the Living Well program is that I
have LEARNED to make good food choices, control my portions and how
important exercise is and how to fit it in my busy schedule. I have
family members who have had tremendous weight loss through programs who
provide them with pre-made meals, but now that they are to their goal
weight and trying to go off the pre-mad meals it is really hard because
they haven’t learned about food choices. Living Well has truly taught me
how to make lifestyle changes and I have never felt like I was dieting.
I do sleep better since I’ve been exercising. I have lost 10% body
fat and gained muscle. My cholesterol went down over 100 pts. I have
lost 20 inches from Jan to April and hopefully more since then. Because
of this program I got to see a dietitian and it has helped control my
blood sugars. Also, I finally started exercising again after 4 surgeries
in the last 3 years. It feels great!
I noticed that I initially lost inches and not necessarily pounds.
After awhile, I lost weight and began to have more energy. Exercise was
the key to jump starting the process and I’m glad that I made it part of
my routine. I feel better!
