Continuum of careOur inpatient program is flexible and designed to meet the specific needs of each child and adolescent. We provide a comprehensive assessment and develop an individualized treatment plan with each patient and their family. Our child/adolescent program uses a number of approaches including individual, group and family therapy, as well as medication management. We also provide patient and family education and coordinate care with the schools. Aurora Psychiatric Hospital also offers a variety of less intensive treatment options. Our partial hospital program offers intensive treatment in a structured environment with less disruption to the child's regular routine. Partial hospitalization also enables patients to reintegrate into their schools and activities following an acute episode of illness. For adolescents who are struggling with chemical dependency problems, Aurora Psychiatric Hospital also offers a structured intensive outpatient evening program to help with recovery. Case managementAurora Psychiatric Hospital utilizes case managers to help patients and their families throughout treatment. Case managers are registered psychiatric nurses who are available during normal business hours. Our case managers provide an initial comprehensive assessment, coordination with schools and community resources, as well as discharge planning. The case manager is also a resource for the family, providing information to the designated guardian throughout the patient's course of treatment.
