Training

Sharing knowledge and developing skills

Whatever business you're in, getting the best from the people you manage requires the right combination of intuition, empathy, wisdom, communication skills, knowing when to set limits and when to be flexible. Supervising people is one of the greatest challenges in the workplace, and one of the most important.

The Aurora Employee Assistance Program recognizes the vital role that managers and supervisors play in connecting employees with the EAP. Recognizing when an employee needs help, discussing sensitive issues with compassion and professionalism, explaining the benefits of the EAP and reassuring employees that their privacy will be protected are all critical to ensuring appropriate utilization of the EAP.

We offer a full menu of training opportunities for supervisors and managers, including:

  • Fundamental Supervisory Training
  • Changing Times for Management
  • Communications at Work
  • Substance Abuse Awareness
  • Workplace Violence
  • From Stress to Strength
  • Managing for Health and Productivity
  • Myers - Briggs, Appreciating Differences

In addition to basic Employee Orientation to the EAP, we also offer a variety of educational and personal enrichment seminars for employees designed to address the most prevalent personal and workplace issues and to give employees the skills and information they need to cope effectively. Topics include:

  • Balancing Work and Home
  • Child Care and Parenting
  • Navigating the Elder Care System
  • Changing Times
  • Communications at Work
  • Money Management
  • Substance Abuse Awareness
  • Stress Management
  • Respect in the Workplace

Other topics are available to meet the specific needs of your company's managers and employees.

“Thank you for taking the time to change your program to meet our needs. The materials were well received and thought provoking. Your program was exactly the type of information and reinforcement we were looking for in our safety program.”
