Cancer Rehabilitation
From diagnosis into survivorship, cancer rehabilitation is designed to address the pain, fatigue, weakness and other symptoms common during and after cancer treatment.
Our cancer rehabilitation therapists (physical, occupational or speech therapist) will work with you to keep your body strong during surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Our goal is for you to live well as we assist your return to a full, joyful life.
Why Cancer Rehabilitation?
Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and other cancer treatments frequently cause problems with a person’s energy, strength, mobility, pain level and overall ability to function normally. Rehabilitation during and after cancer treatment can reduce, eliminate or prevent these problems.
Therapist Training
The cancer rehabilitation programs at Aurora Health Care have received high praise from the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Our speech, physical and occupational therapists are hand picked and specially trained to assess, manage and treat the musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and functional problems associated with cancer treatment.
