Carla Rohloff, R.N.
Cancer Second Opinion Coordinator

A 2nd opinion can result in better, more effective treatment that could mean a second chance at life.

Studies have shown that over 50% of patients diagnosed with cancer can be cured. That number rises to 75% when proper preventive and treatment measures are followed.

If everyone diagnosed with cancer would get a 2nd opinion immediately, anywhere from 50,000 to 250,000 lives could be saved annually (R.A. Bloch Cancer Foundation, Inc.).

How the St. Luke's 2nd Opinion Program works

Our experts work at the frontier of cancer care, refining the most advanced treatment options that may not be available elsewhere. These options include cancer vaccines, cellular immunotherapy, clinical trials of leading-edge drugs, and advanced technologies such as Gamma Knife radiosurgery and robotic surgery.

We take a multidisciplinary approach to cancer that allows patients to discuss their condition with different kinds of specialists simultaneously. Together, these experienced professionals review the patient's case, and then doctors and the patient explore possible courses of treatment.

We make the process as effortless as possible, from scheduling and securing medical records and reports to parking, locating offices and labs, and consulting with our medical experts.

To take advantage of our 2nd Opinion Program, click here or call 888-649-6892. St. Luke's takes care of the rest of the details that can quickly become overwhelming. A Cancer Care Coordinator greets patients at the main entrance and stays with them during their entire visit. The coordinator guides patients through the process, so patients never feel abandoned or lost.
