Effective treatment for cancer

Radiation Therapy is a sophisticated and effective way to treat many types of cancerous and non-cancerous diseases. Radiation is used to destroy many types of cancer cells and to prevent diseased cells from growing.

A physician known as a Radiation Oncologist prescribes the most effective treatment for the patient.

Many specialists with the radiation oncology team use computerized treatment plans to assist the oncologist in determining the treatment course. Radiation Therapists administer this individualized plan in a nurturing and attentive atmosphere. Their daily interaction with the patient allows them to assess the patient's need for emotional and physical support.

A Registered Nurse provides education, care, and will initiate referral to other support care professionals, if necessary. Pastoral care, dietary and social services are some of the other types of specialties that are available. Locations offering Radiation Oncology.
