Post treatment servicesSupport groupsLiving Beyond Breast Cancer is a monthly support group for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and their loved ones. The group meets in the Cancer Counseling Center at St. Luke's. Sessions are facilitated by the coordinator of St. Luke's breast care program. For more information click here or call 414-649-7200. The Women Supporting Women group provides education and support to African American women who have been challenged by breast cancer. Look good...feel betterThis one-session program is offered several times annually by St. Luke's Regional Cancer Center at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, St. Luke's South Shore and Aurora Sinai Medical Center. It is designed to help people gain control over the cosmetic side effects of cancer treatments. Topics of discussion and demonstration include hair styling, wigs, scarves, nails, skin care and make-up. Breast form & lingerie fitting serviceSt. Luke's offers personal service and sensitive assistance in the selection and fitting of breast forms and lingerie to help women restore their appearance and self-confidence following breast cancer surgery. The first fitting can be scheduled approximately 6 weeks after surgery. For more information call 414-385-2301. Lymphedema management programLymphedema related to breast cancer is the chronic swelling of the arm due to the accumulation of fluid after lymph nodes are surgically removed or affected by radiation treatment. A specialized lymphedema program offered at St. Luke's and other affiliated sites helps patients take control of this condition through exercise, treatment and education.
