Gynecologic Cancer Program

Aurora's comprehensive gynecologic cancer program offers the most treatments for gynecologic cancer in Wisconsin and is lead by 2 board-certified, fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists.

A gynecologic oncologist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers. There are fewer than 15 board-certified, fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists in the state and Aurora's 2 gynecologic oncologists see patients at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the Aurora Women's Pavilion at Aurora West Allis Medical Center and Aurora BayCare Medical Center.

Aurora physicians were the 1st in the state to perform robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery, a new minimally invasive approach. And as principal investigators with the national Gynecologic Oncology Group, they make the latest cancer treatments available to patients through clinical research trials before they're widely available elsewhere.

The program brings together experts in various disciplines to address all of the patient's needs – physical, emotional and social – with customized treatments and resources such as the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.

To make cancer care as simple and personal as possible, Aurora provides patients with a single point of contact, a gynecologic cancer coordinator. A gynecologic cancer coordinator acts as your advisor and advocate throughout the diagnostic, treatment and follow-up process.
