Stop skin cancer early

Perform skin cancer inspections with a partner or a mirror once a month

  • Use adequate lighting
  • Inspect all areas of your body including your scalp and feet
  • Compare unusual skin conditions and moles with pictures on reverse side of card
  • Regularly use sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater

Discuss any suspicious findings with your doctor immediately.

Suspect early skin cancer If you have these signs or symptoms:

  • Small, smooth, shiny, pale or waxy lump
  • Firm red lump
  • Lump that bleeds or develops a crust appearance of a spot
  • Asymmetry or border irregularity of a spot
  • Color of a spot is not uniform
  • Spot diameter greater than six millimeters
