Cardiology services at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center

You won't believe the difference

With a family history of heart disease, Sue Heidelmeier knew she could not ignore the symptoms of chest pain. When the pain disrupted her daily activities, she realized that she had to stop denying there was a problem. Her family physician, Dr. David Thies, referred Sue to Kenneth Bortin, MD, cardiologist, Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

“I liked him immediately. He didn't sugarcoat things, but he was so kind and reassuring. I knew I had made the right choice,” she said.

Additional tests showed Sue would need to have a cardiac catheterization, which Dr. Bortin performed. Today, she is getting back to the things she enjoys. Sue put her faith and trust in the health care professionals at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center.

“I feel better now, but I was in denial for so long,” Sue added. “Dr. Bortin and his staff at Aurora Lakeland were instrumental in helping me overcome my fear of heart disease.”

Aurora Lakeland Medical Center has treated generations of Walworth County families. If you haven't seen us lately, you won't believe the difference.
