Fellowship Programs

Aurora Health Care is home to one of the nation's top cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology fellowship programs. Our faculty has had close ties to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health for many years as volunteer clinical teaching physicians. Many are nationally known in their fields and hold or have held leadership positions in leading professional medical organizations. Faculty is dedicated to research and as a group have published more than 978 articles since 1991.

These fellowship programs have been administered by our physicians for several decades, and currently the physicians train and educate eighteen cardiology fellows, two interventional cardiology fellows, two advanced-level interventional cardiology fellows, three electrophysiology fellows and three advance-level electrophysiology fellows each year.

The majority of our trainees have gone on to achieve successful careers in academics and private practice, and some have joined our group. We believe that the combination of our expert faculty, state-of-the-art clinical facilities, multiple clinical arenas and dedication to ongoing research affords our trainees a top-notch continuing graduate medical education experience.

Both the Milwaukee Heart Institute at Aurora Sinai Medical Center and Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center have cardiac catheterization laboratories with national and international reputations for their expertise in the management of high-risk patients and performance of complicated procedures. This has included pioneering investigative techniques and devices.

The physicians in Aurora cardiovascular services work closely with a variety of other groups in caring for their patients.
