Heart Care

Leading Midwest Cardiology Program

Heart disease is a number one killer of both men and women in the United States. Coronary artery disease is becoming more prevalent as the population grows and ages. People are living longer, and they want to be active into the later stages of their lives, but coronary artery disease is becoming a major issue for the aging population for both men and women. It can significantly limit length and quality of life.

At Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, we have one of the best cardiology programs in the Midwest. We have a collaboration of multiple cardiac subspecialties—invasive, noninvasive, echocardiography, imaging, electrophysiology, heart failure, transplant— working for the betterment of the patient. This is what distinguishes us from other institutions. Aurora's patients get all the care they need in one place; they don’t have to go from one specialist to another for answers. We provide this comprehensive coronary care in one place.

We have a vision to provide the best and most innovative care for our patients. We have the largest cardiac teaching program in Wisconsin, which puts us in a unique position to access the most recent technologies in the field. The cardiology field is evolving and procedures like angioplasty and replacement of the valves can be performed with minimally invasive techniques. Aurora’s cardiology program is a national leader in innovating new techniques, using new technologies—offering minimally invasive treatments for our patients.

We are also involved in many research projects, which give us an edge on patient care. We are able to provide our patients the coming technologies that will become routine in five to ten years.

Providing the best coronary care is a passion at Aurora. The cardiac specialists on our team are passionate about their fields. They are leaders in their research, they are leaders as teachers and they are leaders among their fellow specialists in the United States and internationally.
