Minimally invasive surgery

Could recovery time be shortened after major heart surgery? We think so.

It's not enough to ask how can we save lives. We must also ask ourselves how can we improve the lives of those saved. And with that question come some remarkable answers, like robotic heart surgery. A technique that allows doctors to perform incredibly detailed and sensitive work directly on the heart without ever opening the chest. Shortening recovery time by as much as 75%. Easing pain. Getting patients back to their lives. And heart surgery is just one example.

At Aurora, we're constantly searching for better ways to get patients back on their feet. Including being the first in Wisconsin to offer Gamma Knife technology, making possible brain surgery without incisions. And, radio frequency ablation to help relieve the pain of cancer. Today, they may seem like ideas that are too good to be true, but one day they'll be best practice everywhere.
