Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic
Treating Cardiovascular Diseases in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, you've come to the right place. At Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, we've been successfully treating pulmonary hypertension patients for more than 25 years.
We're uniquely positioned to provide expert care. Dianne Zwicke, MD, an Aurora Health Care cardiologist, was among a group of internationally recognized physicians who first identified treatment of and therapies for pulmonary hypertension in the 1980s.
Since then, she and the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center have led the way in developing new therapies, aggressively treating the disease and delivering the best possible care to patients who come to Aurora St. Luke’s from across the country. Many of our patients live active, productive lives for decades after diagnosis.
Today, as a Pulmonary Hypertension Center of Excellence, we're one of the largest providers of care to pulmonary hypertension patients in the country.
What Services Does the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic Provide?
At the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, you will be seen by a physician who specializes in pulmonary hypertension. You may also be seen by other specialists, depending on your condition. A specially trained nurse coordinator will also be assigned to you to guide you through the process of evaluation and treatment. The physician, the nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team will work with you toward the best possible outcome.
Our goal is to correctly diagnose patients, educate them about the disease and provide treatment and follow-up. Specifically our team will:
- Fully evaluate you and help you understand your diagnosis
- Explain the options for managing the disorder
- Assist with disease-related evaluation and testing
- Recommend lifestyle changes that have a positive impact on your health
- Provide comfort, assurance and insight through the Aurora pulmonary hypertension support group (for both patients and their families)
Perhaps most importantly, our clinic has 24/7 physician and nursing coverage to assist in the management of your care.
