For over 25 years, Gastrointestinal Services at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore has been offering patients excellence in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders.

Extensive Capabilities

We provide a wide range of services, from screening colonoscopy to ERCP, a special procedure that enables your doctor to see inside the ducts that drain the liver and pancreas, without surgery. All screening, diagnosis and treatment of GI conditions are done onsite, providing convenient care and quicker results. Over 2000 GI procedures are performed annually, providing patients with quality care.

The latest technology and equipment enable us to stay on the cutting edge of diagnosis and treatment. When you visit our GI department, you can be sure you are receiving the most advanced diagnosis and treatment options.

Comfort and Convenience

You will enjoy the convenience of flexible scheduling Monday through Friday for procedures as well as office visits. Our nurses and physicians are also on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies. Our newly remodeled GI department, located on the second floor, offers a spacious environment overlooking Lake Michigan. Ample free parking is available near the hospital main entrance.

Staff

The Aurora St. Luke's South Shore skilled team of gastroenterologists includes two large physician groups, GI Associates and Milwaukee Digestive Disease Consultants. Our section chief, Dr. Michael Schmalz, is the American College of Gastroenterology Governor for the state of Wisconsin. Aurora St. Luke's has earned the classification of a Magnet Designated Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Our gastroenterologists are internationally known, fellowship trained, and board certified. Your gastroenterology team of expert GI nurses and associates are specially trained in GI services and will provide you with the best in digestive health care.
