All screening, diagnosis and treatment of GI conditions are done onsite, providing convenient care and quicker results. Over 2000 GI procedures are performed annually, providing patients with quality care.

Our nurses and physicians are also on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies. Our newly remodeled GI department, located on the second floor, offers a spacious environment overlooking Lake Michigan. Ample free parking is available near the hospital main entrance.
The Aurora St. Luke's South Shore skilled team of gastroenterologists includes two large physician groups, GI Associates and Milwaukee Digestive Disease Consultants. Our section chief, Dr. Michael Schmalz, is the American College of Gastroenterology Governor for the state of Wisconsin. Aurora St. Luke's has earned the classification of a Magnet Designated Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
