Diagnosis

Infertility can be one of the most challenging obstacles a couple can face. Asking for help may be the only way to achieve your dream. Our team of specialists is sensitive to these emotions and takes the necessary time with each couple to explain the process in detail.

There may be many reasons why a couple may be infertile. The goal is to evaluate both partners to find the cause of infertility. We can work together to overcome the issue by using the best options available to achieve a pregnancy.

Infertility work-up/evaluation

Your initial work-up will be educational and informational as we take an in-depth look at your health history.

During the consultation, an experienced fertility nurse will accompany you throughout the visit to answer any questions you may have. Touring the clinic, meeting the staff and understanding the services we offer will give you a better understanding of what our clinic is about.

The nurse will spend time going through a new patient packet and afterwards you will spend time with one of our Reproductive Endocrinologists to discuss options and get his/her recommendation. You will then spend additional time with the fertility nurse to make sure you understand everything and answer any questions you may have.

The next step is to meet with a financial consultation specialist who will help explain insurance policies, procedures and payment options.

Our goal is to have you leave the clinic well educated and able to make the best choice for you family.

Next steps

After you have made the choice to pursue pregnancy, comprehensive testing will begin to determine where any infertility issues lie. During this stage the couple will undergo the following evaluations:

  • Evaluation of the fallopian tubes and uterus- Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)
  • Evaluation of the uterine cavity- Sonohysteroscopy (SHG)
  • Blood tests and cultures
  • Evaluation of ovulation
  • Hormonal evaluation of the uterine lining - endometrial biopsy (EMB)
  • Evaluation of the male partner

These tests will be discussed with you in advance. They lead us to determine which path to take to give you the best chance of becoming pregnant.
