Information on financial counseling & support

What is infertility? [ More frequently asked questions ]

Approximately 50% of women have physical factors which cause infertility. These include factors such as tubal blockage, pelvic adhesions, uterine malformation and endometriosis. By using various procedures such as hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography and laparoscopy, we are able to determine whether any of the above symptoms are causing your infertility problems.

Another 30% of infertility issues are caused from problems with ovulation. Hormonal analysis, ultrasound, endometrial biopsy and an assessment of cervical mucus can determine if this is a factor.

The male is the cause for about 40% of infertility problems. To determine the specific issue, patients receive a detailed social and medical history evaluation. Typically a semen analysis is done and in some cases a postcoital evaluation is performed. The information is used to determine what steps we need to take next. Treatments such as artificial insemination are among options available to couples with certain make factor complications.

We have established a process to work with your primary physician to allow some of the testing to be done where you are located and minimize travel to the clinic whenever possible. This could include ultrasounds and other testing. Our clinic will work closely with your physician to make sure the appropriate tests were done and needed results received here. This enables us to help patients who may otherwise not be able to travel repeatedly.
